Who are we?

The Central Missouri Chapter consists of professionals located in the Central Missouri area including the cities of Columbia, Jefferson City, Fulton and Boonville.  Our members come from a variety of professions, including internal and external auditing, accounting, program administration, and budget analysis, and share common interests and backgrounds.

Our Chapter was formed to educate local professionals and the public about the benefits to be gained from Internal Auditing and to provide a forum for our members to exchange information and ideas.  We encourage you to consider what we have to offer you!

What is the IIA?

The Institute of Internal Auditors is a global organization dedicated to certification, education, research, and technological guidance for the profession of Internal Auditing.  The services provided by the IIA include:

What is a CIA?

The IIA offers the Certified Internal Auditor designation, recognized the world over as "The Global Mark of Excellence in Internal Auditing".

The CIA designation demonstrates competence in the principles and practice of internal auditing and is the only internationally accepted designation for internal auditors.  The CIA designation is the best certification for risk management.

The Central Missouri Chapter offers its members a local exam site and study materials.  In cooperation with other Chapters, we will also be offering a local study course.  Watch this site for more details.

What is a CGAP?

The Certified Government Auditing Professional^® (CGAP^®) is a specialty certification designed for and by public-sector internal auditing practitioners. The exam tests a candidate's knowledge of the unique features of public-sector internal auditing — fund accounting, grants, legislative oversight, confidentiality rights, and more. The program’s broad scope emphasizes the internal auditor’s role in strengthening accountability to the public and improving government services.
