Bio:

Angela Morelock, a partner in BKD, LLP’s Forensics & Valuation Services has been in the accounting profession for 15 years.  She is a Certified Fraud Examiner responsible for resolving a wide range of fraud and white-collar crime allegations.  Morelock provides fraud investigation and prevention, complex litigation support and forensic accounting services for a variety of businesses. She is also a Certified Public Accountant and is accredited by the American College of Forensic Examiners.  

Topic of Discussion:  

Fraud can wreak havoc on a company’s financial performance, damage its reputation and undermine business objectives.  With stories from the trenches and prevention tips, you will be simultaneously educated and entertained during this fast-paced program designed for those with or without an accounting background.  This seminar will cover:

·      The magnitude of the fraud problem.

·      Typical fraud perpetrator and what to watch for.

·      Typical methods used to perpetrate embezzlement in the contractor environment and case studies of hard lessons learned based on our investigations.

·      Warning signs and red flags of fraud.

·      Protecting your company from fraud.

Bio

Online, he’s known as Mr. Excel, but offline, he’s better known as Bill Jelen, a real-life Excel expert. Bill has over 18 years of spreadsheet experience. He has been doing Excel consulting since 1998 and it is now his full-time gig.

Bill is the host of MrExcel.com and the author of 23 books on Microsoft Excel including the following:

He has made over 60 guest appearances on TV’s Call for Help with Leo Laporte and was voted guest of the year on the Computer America radio show. His daily video podcast Learn Excel from MrExcel is a top 50 tech video podcast on iTunes. Bill will entertain you while showing you the powerful tricks in Excel. Before founding MrExcel.com in 1998, Jelen spent twelve years “in the trenches”, as a financial analyst for the accounting, finance, marketing, and operations departments of a publicly held company. Since then, his company automates Excel reports for hundreds of clients around the world. Topic Description

  • Learn the ins and outs of Pivot Tables (from the guy who wrote the book on pivot tables!).
  • Create slick charts in a single button click.
  • Add thousands of subtotals in seconds.
  • Don't be tortured by bad data any longer! Learn how to take poorly formatted data and convert it to data suitable for pivot tables.
  • Learn some of the changes made in Excel 2007.

Jelen loves new questions! Bring your Excel question and Bill will incorporate it into the seminar. 1.   Take 50 Highway West.

2.   Turn right onto Madison Street.

3.   Go straight through the first two traffic lights.

4.   The Governor's Office Building is the last building on the left hand side before you get to the third traffic light.  It is directly across the street from the Parking Garage.

From West of Jefferson City:

1.   Take 50 Highway East.

2.   Go through the first three traffic lights.

3.   At the fourth traffic light, turn left onto Madison Street.

4.   Go straight through the first two traffic lights.

The Governor's Office Building is the last building on the left hand side before you get to the third traffic light.  It is directly across the street from the Parking Garage.
